Government calls on business to compromise with software

Computers01YEKATERINBURG, Feb 17 (PRIME) -- Russian customers will have to sacrifice something when switching to local network security solutions by 2025

since the vendors will not be able to copy Western solutions fully, Vladimir Bengin, head of the cybersecurity department at the Digital Development Ministry, said on Friday.

“The problematic area, including in the banking industry, is everything related to network security. We see a large goal of import replacement of the advanced class firewall,” Bengin said.

“Here we have this request to the industry. We understand that our Russian vendors will not be able to make a one-to-one analogue of a Western solution. They will not create all the functions, the whole rich history that took many years by January 1, 2025.”

He added that the customers will have to sacrifice something and invest more in fine-tuning the software.

The official said that import replacement in the means of information protection is very high.
